Armored vehicle caught fire, Philippine National News Agency clarifies
The Haitian National Police (PNH) has clarified the images circulating on social networks showing armed members of the “400 Mawozo” group seizing, looting and setting fire to a PNH armored vehicle in Ganthier on the morning of Sunday, August 4. The PNH wishes to clarify to the public that the armored vehicle had broken down and had been parked for some time and was not involved in the police operation. It should be noted that the “400 Mawozo” group took control of the customs office, looted it and set it on fire, forcing the police to retreat in the face of a force superior in numbers and weapons.
