Today is a crucial day for democracy, marking the 203rd anniversary of our independence. Huanuco is looking forward to giving better speeches on issues such as university education, provincial hospitals, infrastructure and irrigation in the regions.

In this series of announcements on government policies and commitments, we find a lot of weaknesses in the macroeconomic strategy of the Boluarte Plan. Our country is in a recession and the level of inflation has not stabilized in recent months due to the increase in the prices of basic products in the household basket. In addition to this, the cost of living in the wake of the pandemic has risen to a level where Peruvians in the region are still struggling to cope with the severe economic situation.

It is imperative to promote government policies that promote economic growth and set clear courses of action in areas such as infrastructure, transportation and agriculture. Education and innovation are essential, as well as well-founded actions in health and public safety. In this presidential message, only promises of microeconomic policies are heard. There is no clear direction on how to fight crime head-on or how to fight corruption in the police and judiciary, which hinders the proper functioning of control institutions.

We remember the presidential speech of 2023, in which a series of proposals were made. Analyzing the content of the promises, only about 25% of them have been fulfilled. Among them, I regret that the province of Marañón, in my region of Huanuco, was only mentioned in the protection and improvement of the PE 12-A road, the Pomabamba-Sivas-Huaclachuco-San Pedro de Joonta-Uchiza highway. An important road that connects the four regions of Peru and connects us from the north to Brazil. It will be an important route for communication with Chancay, since it starts from Chimbote.

After many conversations with the Minister of Transportation and the Prime Minister, the President has learned that we need to clearly pave roads to improve economic mobility and communication between Ancash, Huanuco, San Martín and the Free Region. We hope that in 2025, the announcement regarding some roads in the Huanuco region will be implemented, as mentioned in the new Ambo-Oyon Central Highway section.

Huánuco, like many other regions, needs to be remembered and cared for. Commitments alone are not enough; concrete actions and visible results are needed to improve the quality of life for all Peruvians.
