“We will punish Israel, but we don’t want a full-scale war” – Iran issues a NOTAM to the center, west and northwest of the country

Iran recently issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) requiring aircraft to change their routes.

In particular, Iran issued a NOTAM for the central, western and northwestern parts of the country, advising aircraft to change routes, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The development comes days after Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran. Iran blames the killing and pledges on Israel.

Fears are growing of an all-out conflict between Israel and Iran and its allies in the region.

Meanwhile, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Monday morning that Iran does not want to escalate regional tensions but believes it needs to punish Israel to prevent further instability.

Nasser Kanani said: “Iran wants to establish stability in the region, but this can only be achieved by punishing aggressors and taking countermeasures against Zionist adventurism.” According to this, Tehran’s actions are inevitable.

A spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry also called on the United States to stop supporting Israel, saying that the international community had failed to fulfill its obligations to protect stability in the region and should support “punishing the aggressor.”

Revolutionary Guard leader Hussein Salami reiterated his threat to Israel, saying “it will be punished in time.”
