This year, parents or carers of school-age children in the Caribbean Netherlands may again be eligible for a contribution towards the cost of school supplies such as uniforms, shoes and stationery. For children attending secondary school (after the long holidays), parents or guardians in Bonaire and Sint Eustatius can contact the RCN SZW unit.

Families in Bonaire with a child attending high school and a net income of $2,100 or less per month may qualify for this support. You can submit your application via email or in person at the SZW office in Praia during special consultation hours between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 and July 6. Consultation hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in July from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If a parent or caregiver is unable to attend the above consultation hours and is unable to submit an application digitally, an appointment can be made via the email address onderstand@rijksdienstcn.com Via WhatsApp +599 795 5053.

St. Eustatius

The income limit on St. Eustatius is also $2,100 net income per household per month. On St. Eustatius, parents and caregivers can submit applications to the SZW office Monday through Thursday mornings.

Necessary documents

The applicant must provide a valid sédula (also for children), pay slips and bank statements (copies) for the last two months. If the applicant has a partner in the same household, these documents must also be provided by him or her. In addition, a secondary school enrollment certificate or the latest primary school report is required. The guardian or caregiver must show a decision proving that he or she is the legal caregiver.

Children in primary education and children in Saba

Parents or guardians of children receiving primary education can contact the public entity of the island where they are located to obtain the conditions and required documents. In Sabah, you can get reimbursement for school supplies and uniforms for primary and secondary school children from a public agency (Sabah Community Development Department).
