St. Catherine police are investigating the drowning death of a teenage boy in the Rio Cobre River on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Deandra Garvey, a 16-year-old student of Delido Avenue, Ensome, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

Garvey’s body was reportedly pulled from the river around 1 p.m.

Police speculated that the teenager had difficulty swimming in the river and drowned.
