Fajardo man charged with using false documents to obtain weapons permit

Special agents from the Police Department’s Weapons License Investigation Unit and the Armory and Polygon Inspection Unit conducted an investigation that led to the charges filed against Ángel Parrilla Campos by the Fajardo Prosecutor’s Office.

Parrilla Campos, 35, faces charges of document forgery, ideological falsehood, possession and transfer of forged documents and perjury for the May 23 incident at the Fajardo Command’s weapons permit office.

According to the investigation, Parilla Campos submitted false documents to obtain a firearms license and filed an affidavit in which he stated that the document was authentic.

Prosecutor José Olivo ordered charges for violations of several articles of the Penal Code. Parrilla Campos issued the arrest warrant of Fajardo Court Judge Irmarie Colón Massó and set bail at $120,000, after which he was released until a preliminary hearing on June 12.

Special Agent Elias Negron from the Weapons License Investigations Unit and the Armory and Polygon Inspections Unit is in charge of the investigation.
