In this first class: Everyone has a million-dollar business idea (e.g., “Shazam the Movie”), but not everyone has what it takes to be an entrepreneur. We have two stories of founders who learned the hard way how hard it is to start a small business and keep it running.
first, Frederick Hutson’s StoryHe learned about pain points and unique value propositions when he started a company that helped prisoners and their families share photos. Then we went to Columbia, Maryland With Chefs RaeShawn and LaShone MiddletonTheir steamed crab delivery service taught them about the challenges of bootstrapping a business. Throughout the show, Columbia Business School professor Angela Lee Explains why starting a business can be incredibly difficult, but also incredibly rewarding if you have the courage.
