Dam Press:

The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform has determined the foundations that extension and veterinary units in remote and semi-remote areas must provide within the framework of the implementation of Legislative Decree No. 27 of 2023, which provides for the granting of a 50% compensation based on the nature of the work to specific categories of workers at the production site.

The ministry explained in a statement that remote “desert” areas in Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Damascus Countryside, Suwayda and Daraa provinces must meet a series of conditions, namely that guidance units and veterinary units should be within safe liberated areas and outside urban organizational plans.

The ministry said that semi-remote areas in all provinces must meet a series of conditions, namely that extension and veterinary units are located within safe and liberated areas, outside the organizational plan of provincial centres and cities, and are within 5 kilometres of health and agriculture in the area.

The Council of Ministers approved the definition of these areas and the above principles in the context of implementing the provisions of Decree No. 27 of 2023, which provides for the granting of a 50% remuneration of the nature of work to specific categories of workers in production sites, including agricultural workers, engineers and veterinarians working in extension and veterinary units in remote and semi-remote areas.
