The professional organization of service station managers in Guadeloupe has asked regional authorities to reduce the tax by 10 cents.

OPGSS Press Release

“Martinique, Guyana and Guadeloupe have shared the costs of transport fuel since 2012, and it is highly unfair that motorists in Guadeloupe pay 10 cents per litre more than their counterparts in Martinique.

Gas station managers in Guadeloupe are asking regional authorities to reduce taxes that are too high compared to Martinique so that Guadeloupeans can benefit from fairer and more equitable prices for filling up their tanks.

A reduction of 10 cents would save Guadeloupean motorists between 8 and 13 euros on a tank of fuel.

“This will ultimately be a powerful measure to practically, effectively and substantially increase the purchasing power of fellow citizens and consumers.”
