Immigration: MIDAS computer system in Cap-Haïtien
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Territorial Communities, and with support from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, has opened a Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) office at the port of Cap-Haïtien. This important initiative will facilitate safer, orderly, and regular migration in Haiti. Security crisis: Prime Minister’s speech

Chinese troops on border
On Friday, August 2, Chinese military attachés visited the Dominican-Haiti border. They traveled to the area near the Dajabon-Ouanaminte border bridge. The purpose of the visit has not yet been disclosed.

Swiss cooperatives and DINEPA
The Swiss Cooperation in Haiti and the National Drinking Water and Sanitation Agency (DINEPA) held their 10th Steering Committee Meeting. The meeting was attended by officials from the Swiss Cooperation, DINEPA, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities Regional Office for Drinking Water and Sanitation (OREPA South), the municipalities of Jacmel, Marigot, La Vallee, Benet and implementing partners Helvetas, GRIDE and EXXSA. The meeting aimed to discuss the progress of the Local Water and Sanitation Governance Strengthening Plan (REGLEAU) and the implementation of the Municipal Water and Sanitation Project Management Approach.
