Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, Chairperson of the Kingdom’s Human Rights Commission, confirmed at the International Conference on Islamic Women that the Kingdom promotes moderate and moderate values and spreads the concept of protecting human rights. Hala Al-Tuwaijri said that the agreement to eliminate discrimination against women aims to make women equal to men, and the Kingdom is a party to five human rights conventions.
She also said that the Kingdom had acceded to the Optional Protocol on the Empowerment of Women and that the Kingdom’s Human Rights Commission, in cooperation with the treaty bodies, was working to incorporate those conventions into national legislation and practice.
She said that the purpose of revising the personal status system is to maintain family stability, build interpersonal relationships, protect rights, and resolve disputes. The purpose of revising the labor system is to ensure equality and non-discrimination for all, and to prohibit the dismissal of working women during pregnancy.
