On Monday, August 5, Colombian President Gustavo Petro, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held a virtual meeting with Nicolás Maduro that would mark a major attempt to resolve Venezuela’s political crisis.

Diplomatic sources could have confirmed this information to journalist Vladimir Villegas, who disclosed it through his account. X.

Ricardo Ospina, director of the Blu broadcast information service, announced that the governments of Colombia, Mexico and Brazil are organizing a coalition called G3 to mediate the Venezuelan crisis. The alliance aims to promote dialogue between Nicolás Maduro and the opposition Edmundo González, amid strong doubts about the transparency of the results of the last elections.

The negotiation plan provides for the establishment of a dialogue table between Maduro and González, excluding María Corina Machado as the leader of the process, although it is still possible that she will appear in the opposition delegation.
