All About Sean Martin, the Crafty Puppy Musician Announced Dead
Sean Martin was born in Dallas, Texas on August 23, 1978. He began playing piano at the age of four and studied classical and jazz music. He began learning gospel music by going to church with his mother every Sunday.
He began his education at DeSoto High School. He then attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and later Weatherford College.
He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences.
Martin’s road to greatness began when he worked with legendary gospel musician Kirk Franklin in high school. He began directing Franklin’s choir.
Shaun Martin is also a member of the jazz fusion band Snarky Puppy, which was founded by UNT alumnus bassist Michael League in 2004. The band has performed with many legends, including Erykah Badu, Justin Timberlake, Michael McDonald, Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin.
Martin has won seven Grammy Awards during his career through his work with Snarky Puppy and Franklin.
Sean Martin is married to Monica Wilson Martin, and they have a son, Harlem.

On August 3, the news of Sean Martin’s death caused an uproar on social media, with a large number of netizens posting on various platforms praying that this was not true.

Sadly, it appears that musician Sean Martin has indeed passed away.
He had been plagued by health problems in recent years, and there were reports that he had suffered a stroke. His family never confirmed what exactly ails him, as they are very secretive about the matter. They have not yet confirmed his death.
