New Delhi: A Malawi parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the National Assembly of Malawi, Catherine Gotani Hara, paid a courtesy visit to Indian President Draupadi Murmu at the Presidential Palace.
The President welcomed the delegation and said India and Malawi have a long history of friendly relations and there is much room for growth in the relationship. She said our shared belief in democratic values and pluralism makes India and Malawi natural partners.
The President noted that India is one of Malawi’s largest trading and private investment partners and a preferred destination for Malawian nationals in terms of health and education. She was pleased to note that India and Malawi have a strong development partnership programme and many projects have been implemented in Malawi in the areas of infrastructure, health, water resources, capacity building and education.
