The statement said that at the invitation of the forum, leaders of African member states of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will attend the summit, and representatives of relevant African regions and international organizations will also attend the forum activities.
The upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit will be the fourth to be held in China.
This summit will also be another friendly gathering of the China-Africa family in Beijing following the 2018 China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit. Mutual respect, equal treatment and joint consultation are important features of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.
I believe that with the joint efforts of China and Africa, the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit will be a complete success, ushering in a new situation for the development of China-Africa relations and writing a new chapter in building a China-Africa community with a shared future.
In 2000, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was established, creating a China-Africa friendly family with its own collective dialogue platform and practical cooperation mechanism.
In September 2018, Gambian President Barrow attended the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit for the first time since assuming office as the country’s leader, and Gambia officially joined the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation family.
Since the 2018 summit, the governments of the People’s Republic of China and the Gambia have actively implemented the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Many substantial achievements of China-Gambia cooperation include the Dauda Kairabajawara International Conference Center, which was built with Chinese assistance and became the main venue for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit recently hosted by the Gambian government.
The upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit will also provide a historic opportunity for China and African countries such as Gambia to work together to plan a blueprint for future cooperation, further enhance China-Africa friendship, and add new impetus to the building of a China-Africa community with a shared future.
