The prosecutor’s office charged special forces officers with beating citizens. An employee of the Special Missions Division has been charged with intentional serious injury to health, the agency said.
As a precautionary measure, the prosecutor’s office filed a motion with the court to suspend the defendant.
“The investigation of the Special Investigation Service confirmed that on July 29, inspectors of the Special Assignments Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs severely harmed the victim’s health in the village of Aten in the city of Gori. Prosecutors of the Special Investigation Service arrested the defendant on July 31. He is charged with Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentional severe harm to health, i.e., damage to the body, endangering life).” the statement read.
The agency noted that the Special Investigations Bureau is still continuing to investigate this criminal case to identify other people involved in the crime. Watch:
