Aerosmith, one of the most famous rock bands in the United States, has officially announced that it will permanently retire from touring. The news was shared with fans via social media on Friday and is effective immediately.
The announcement came as a surprise, as multiple tour dates were still planned, including a show in Chicago in January 2025. The band shared a touching message thanking their loyal fans, the “Blue Army”, for their support over the years. Aerosmith began their musical journey in 1970, and thanks to their fans, they have been able to create more than 50 years of rock history.
The main reason for their breakup was an injury to singer Steven Tyler’s vocal cords. The injury prevented him from continuing to tour. Aerosmith, from Boston, has released 15 studio albums during their career, the latest of which was released in 2012.
Throughout their impressive career, Aerosmith had at least one top 10 song in four consecutive decades, from the 1970s to the 2000s.I do not wanna Miss a Thing” is the theme song of the science fiction movie “Armageddon” starring Bruce Willis.
