A long-range rocket was fired from southern Gaza towards the southern Israeli city of Asdud.
It was the first time in weeks that a long-range missile had been fired from inside Gaza, demonstrating the resistance’s ability to operate even within the limits of Israel’s war on the Strip.
More rockets also hit Israeli military bases inside the so-called Gaza Strip.
Here are the latest statements from Gaza’s two main resistance forces and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

Hezbollah
On the night of Thursday, August 1, 2024, Islamic Resistance fighters of the Air Defense Forces fired anti-aircraft missiles at enemy warplanes over the southern region of Lebanon, forcing the enemy warplanes to retreat behind Lebanon’s border with occupied Palestine.
“At 1:05 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, Islamic Resistance Movement fighters fired artillery shells at the enemy deployment at Dhuhaira location, hitting the target directly.
“At 1:15 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted the Al-Samaqa base in the occupied Lebanese Kfar Shuba Mountain with rocket weapons and hit the base directly.
“At 2:40 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, Islamic Resistance Movement fighters fired artillery shells at the Bayad Blida location, hitting the target directly.
“At 3 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted the Al-Marj location with rocket weapons and hit it directly.
“At 6:45 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, fighters of the Islamic Resistance Movement targeted the spy equipment at the Rahib base using appropriate weapons, hitting them directly.”
