The cultural events organized within the cultural program of the Madinah Book Fair 2024 attracted the admiration and appreciation of the visitors of the exhibition, who confirmed that the cultural program is diverse and offers a series of unique programs and activities related to various aspects of culture, and they appreciated the topics discussed in the seminars and dialogue sessions. It is worth noting that the exhibition “Medina Book Fair 2024” is supervised and organized by the following institutions and receives visitors every day from 2 pm. The exhibition will last from July 30 to August 5 at the headquarters behind the King Salman Convention Center in Madinah.

The exhibition was well visited and the publishing house welcomed lovers of reading culture and offered them the latest books and publications.

Evening parties and discussion seminars

The 2024 Medina Book Fair hosted several poetry evenings for a group of poets, both men and women, who presented their most beautiful poems on different themes, styles and genres of poetry.

Today, Friday (the fourth day of the exhibition) at 10:30 pm, a poetry evening entitled “Poetry from Medina” will be held with the participation of poets Yusuf Ruhaili and Mona Badrani.

As part of the cultural program, a dialogue seminar was held this afternoon entitled “Bridges of Thought and Beauty: Encounters between Philosophy and Art” with the participation of Dr. Abdullah Humaili and Dr. Shtewi Gatti (speakers). During the symposium, the discussion revolved around the concepts of philosophy and art and how they intersect, while emphasizing the close relationship between aesthetic ideas in literature and philosophy, through a journey exploring ancient history. Witness a group of interactions and mutual influences between literature and philosophy.

Another dialogue seminar, entitled “Writing History”, was presented by Dr. Sayyid Sayyid and Suleiman Shamari (dialogue moderator), who discussed the term “writing history”, its historical origins and methodological development, the challenges it faces and how these challenges can be used to objectively rewrite historical narratives, thereby enhancing the understanding of the past and planning for the future.

“On Philosophical Questions” Panel Discussion

As part of the exhibition seminar activities, a seminar on “Screenwriting: Transforming Stories into Films” was held today, where Mawaddah Al-Barqi spoke and focused on the importance of the means of translating stories into films. Reviving stories and conveying them in an inspiring and interesting visual way, while highlighting the most salient writing steps and methods that retain the essence of the original story and adapt the film scenes to the current film format and the needs of the target audience.

In the second workshop, “The Art of Book Reviewing”, Abdul Wahed Al Ansari spoke about how to acquire practical techniques in book reviewing, improve the ability to conduct critical analysis, and clearly express thoughts and opinions on various literary works.

This evening from 10:3 to 11:30, there will be a panel discussion titled “Philosophical Problems”, where engineers Hamad Al-Rashed and Abdullah Al-Sumaie will speak on the challenges facing philosophy. In modern times, such as technology, ethics and society, how can philosophy address these challenges through critical thinking and philosophical analysis?
