Abu Dhabi: Abdul Rahman Al Said
The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Claims Court ruled that one person must return AED128,0100 to the second person, who returned the amount to him based on the amount of the two watches purchased, but he did not fulfill his obligation. The court proved this through a witness who attended the incident and appeared in court, as well as a conversation through the social networking application “WhatsApp”. Specifically, the buyer, the plaintiff, filed a lawsuit against the second defendant, claiming that the defendant was obliged to pay him AED128,0100 plus statutory interest of 12%, and that the defendant paid costs and expenses in exchange for attorney fees, and the ruling included accelerated execution.
In support of his claim, the plaintiff stated that he gave the defendant the money for the purchase of two watches but after receiving the money, he started delaying in delivering the two watches to him and also in returning the money to him. This prompted the plaintiff to file the present lawsuit and attached pictures of the conversations conducted through the social networking application “WhatsApp” and pictures of the money transfer receipt.
