The DGPN has just appointed all new national police chiefs to renew the command, following the appointment of Wahab SALL as deputy national police chief. Thus, from the Public Security Department to the Judicial Police (through Ocrtis), the Foreigners and Travel Documents Police Department, the Mobile Intervention Group, General Mame Seydou NDOUR has decided to respond effectively to the strong demands of the population on issues related to security.

Another important task will be for the successor of Inspector General Seydou Bocar YAGUE to reconnect the threads of dialogue between the population and the National Police, which has been strongly criticized for its management of the political unrest in Senegal between February 2021 and March 2024. The convictions of the National Police Chief and the Minister of the Interior and Public Security remain a source of motivation for all police officers today.

To this end, in addition to the creation of new police stations and police stations, the sovereign mission of protecting property and people will see a new growth. Moreover, as part of the fight against all forms of crime, large-scale night foot patrols will be organized in large cities. Thus, the police will regularly visit places where crimes are considered to be committed.

The same was said by the Deputy Director General, who assured the continuity of the mission to ensure the safety of goods and people. In addition to the emergency and challenges facing Senegal, the Auditor General, Abdel Wahab Sall, urged the population to be more vigilant, strengthen collaboration and take ownership of the police.
