Since its opening, Miami has seen a significant increase in visitor numbers, with business activity in the area doubling. A recent survey showed that key industries such as transportation, hospitality, commerce and communications have benefited greatly from the influx of tourists. Project managers are aiming to attract 1 million visitors throughout the year, which would generate $40 to $80 billion in revenue for the city.
To ensure the proper functioning and ongoing maintenance of MSAMI Toamasina, a monthly budget of Ariyal 60 million is required. This amount is not only used to pay staff salaries, but also to cover related expenses such as security, cleaning and garden maintenance. In order to diversify these sources of income, management is exploring opportunities such as entrance fees and rental of local shops.
Supervision of the infrastructure is the responsibility of the State Secretariat of Housing and New Cities (SENVH) until a professional company is established that will manage it in partnership with the central government, the Toamasina Urban Commune and the Toamasina SPAT Port.
Still, work is actively underway on the southern portion of the site, where projects remain in progress. They involve a soccer field and additional space to accommodate more vendors. Miami Park remains open to all, with free service kiosks and sprinklers, reinforcing its role as a vibrant public space.
