The General Secretary of Parliament, Ms. Kushani Rohanadilla, said that Parliament is scheduled to meet from 6 to 9. The business of the week will be decided by the Parliamentary Affairs Committee chaired by the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abewardena.

Therefore, the sixth oral argument will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Tuesday. Thereafter, the adjournment debate on the Opposition’s failed attempt to build a dam along the Nilwala River will be held from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm

On Wednesday, time 07 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. is allocated for oral responses to questions. Thereafter, the government will hold an adjournment debate on the 2024 interim fiscal status report from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, time slot 08 is allotted from 9:30 am to 10:30 am for oral responses to questions. Thereafter, the second reading of the two Healthcare (Amendment) Bills is scheduled from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. From 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm, it is planned to answer questions during the recess.

Friday the 9th has been designated as a day of condolence for the late former MP and Minister, Mr. Ronnie De Mel. As such, the Parliamentary Affairs Committee has decided to pay tribute to the former Minister from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
