Emergency crews arrived at Berry’s home around noon on Saturday and found him unconscious, police said. Despite the efforts of emergency crews, Berry did not regain consciousness and was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m. (18:16 GMT), police said.
Berry was one of the first star guitarists and songwriters to emerge in the 1950s, and the writer and singer of such rock classics as “Johnny B. Goode,” “Sweet Little Sixteen” and “Roll Over Beethoven.”
