Morocco’s new Consulate General in Miami celebrates its coronation day

The Consulate General of Morocco in Miami (USA) held a reception to mark the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne. The ceremony was attended by several local officials, diplomats based in the American metropolis, business, cultural and media figures, as well as members of the Moroccan community in Florida.

In his speech on the occasion, Consul General Chafiqa Al Habti highlighted the scope of Throne Day and Morocco’s development achievements under the leadership of Mohammed VI. Speaking about Morocco’s African mission, the diplomat noted that the country is working for sustainable and inclusive progress on the continent within the framework of mutually beneficial partnerships.

Chafiqa Al-Habti also stressed the long-standing strategic partnership between Morocco and the United States and recalled the US decision to recognize the Kingdom of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.

During the reception, officials of the American metropolis presented to the Moroccan consulate a proclamation specially signed by the city’s mayor, Francis Suarez, praising the royal leadership and the monarch for the actions taken for democracy and for the contribution to peace and stability regionally and internationally.
