Kazakhstan has reportedly lodged a formal complaint against boxing referees at the Paris Olympics Marine Sports.
“The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan expressed doubts to the PBU (Paris Boxing Unit) regarding some referees in charge of matches for Kazakh boxers and asked to focus on the issue of bias,” the NOC press release said.
It was explained that the organizers of the Olympic boxing competition took these opinions into consideration and promised to investigate the situation. A lawsuit was initiated against the famous judge.
“At the same time, it is important to stress that this procedure will not affect the outcome of the competition in any way and, according to regulations, past results of competitions will not be reviewed,” the committee noted.
However, if errors are found in their work, the judge may be removed from his or her position.
Let us remind you that on Thursday, boxer Aibek Oralbay will compete in the 92 kg category Defeated Paris Olympics quarter-finals.
Earlier, Makhmud Sabyrkhan (under 57 kg), Kamshybek Kunkabaev (over 92 kg) and team captain Aslanbek Shymbergenov (under 71 kg) were eliminated from the Olympic competition.
Athletes from Kazakhstan will continue to compete for medals: Saken Bibosynov (51 kg), Muhammadsabyr Bazarbayul (63.5 kg) and Nurbek Oralbay (80 kg).
Reaching the semifinals guarantees Dominguez at least a bronze medal in the Olympic competition. His next opponent will be Cuban-born Spaniard Emmanuel Reyes. The fight will take place on August 4.
