“The United States had no involvement or knowledge of the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.”
Musawat U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this in an interview with Channel NewsAsia.
The US secretary of state was speaking during a two-day official visit to Singapore hours after news of Haniyeh’s murder broke.
“That’s something we don’t know about and we’re not involved in. It’s hard to speculate,” Blinken said.
He expressed satisfaction at stressing the importance of a ceasefire to end the nine-month-long war in the Middle East.
