Russia has begun the third phase of its drills to practice the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons, the Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

– The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Telegram saying that according to the decision of the President of the Russian Federation, the third stage of exercises of non-strategic nuclear forces has begun.

The Defense Ministry said soldiers from the Southern and Central Military Districts will practice how to deploy dummy warheads for the Iskander-M operational and tactical missile systems and secretly move them to launch sites.

– The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the current stage of the exercises is aimed at keeping the personnel and equipment of Russia’s non-strategic nuclear weapons combat forces in a state of readiness to carry out combat missions.

Russia held the first phase of the exercises in May, and Belarus participated in the second phase in June.

Moscow says the United States and its European allies are pushing the world to the brink of nuclear conflict by sending billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine, some of which are being used on Russian territory.

Since sending troops to Ukraine on February 22, 2022, Vladimir Putin He reiterated that Russia could use nuclear weapons to defend itself in extreme circumstances, which the West often calls “weapons of intimidation.”
