Reuters reported based on regulatory filings that Chinese electric car maker BYD01211) is seeking access to the Canadian auto market even as Ottawa officials consider imposing tariffs on vehicles imported from China.
The document reportedly does not specify a timeline for BYD’s plans, but does discuss the possibility of tariffs on electric vehicles and BYD’s plans to begin selling passenger electric vehicles in Canada.
