A Kuwaiti lawyer has filed a lawsuit against a private hospital in Kuwait’s Farwaniya governorate for keeping the body of a newborn baby for more than a year and not burying it or informing its father of the existence of the body, citing the reason that the baby was not buried. Abdul Aziz Al-Waran, the lawyer representing the deceased’s father, said he “filed a complaint that the hospital did not inform the official authorities of the death of his client’s son, thereby preventing the father from burying his child and keeping his body in the morgue for a year and a month without legal or medical reasons.”

Varan recounted the details of the incident in an interview with Al Arabiya TV, saying that the hospital contacted the baby’s father on November 17, 2021, a year after the baby was born, and told him that they had forgotten the baby in the morgue.

He also added that the hospital apologized to the father, saying “I’m sorry, we forgot about him,” indicating that this was not the first case and there was another child involved.
