In order to strengthen the skills of its agents and managers, the National Guard is working to establish an electronic learning management system (LMS) platform that meets security needs and requirements and contributes to national security. The platform brings together various departments and programs provided by different agencies of the National Guard General Directorate to provide standardized, centralized training resources that meet legal and ethical standards. It is based on appropriate teaching and cutting-edge technology.
The project, launched in 2016 in partnership with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), part of the State Department, has evolved over three consecutive phases. They have focused on an in-depth assessment phase to understand challenges and needs, a training and planning phase, and the integration of a series of transformations and reforms in the sector design since 2022.
To promote this project, the Ministry of Interior organized on Tuesday in Tunis an information day on the theme: “The role of training in building an effective security force at the service of citizens. The experience of the National Guard. The Secretary of State to the Interior in charge of National Security, opened the meeting by highlighting “the contribution of this groundbreaking project to strengthening skills in a reform and transformational way”.
The platform’s approach to building is based on four fundamental pillars, namely institutional preparedness, methodological reform, public service spirit and digitalization. Training standards and technology transfer methods are developed.
