This meant that the show had to show a football match instead, much to the dismay of loyal fans.
But ITV has now announced a “little gift” for Corrie viewers over the summer, with the channel making changes to the way the series are broadcast.

Viewers of the much-loved soap will be able to watch the latest series on Weatherfield Cobbles on ITVX every morning from 7am on ITV1.
The same changes will apply to Emmerdale in the coming weeks.
In a post on X, @itvcorrie revealed: “We have a little gift for you this summer during the Olympics.
“You can find episodes of Corrie and Emmerdale on ITVX at 7am every air day!
“But remember not to spoil the area for those watching at night.”
Some fans are now calling on ITV to make uploading episodes on ITVX at 7am a “permanent thing”.
One person shared on X: “This should be a permanent thing, other soaps release episodes early every week.”
“They should do this permanently like the BBC did with EastEnders,” agreed another.
Others also called on ITV to follow the BBC’s EastEnders iPlayer schedule, with one writing: “ITV have finally listened to viewers who want early morning viewing. The BBC has been working with EastEnders for a long time. If ITV revamps its morning numbers after the summer then it should become permanent. “I’m not getting up early because it’s recorded in the evening.”
The account also said: “It’s about time. Eastenders have been doing this for years!”

Another added: “7am internet access should be a permanent move. It would be great to be able to watch shows like EastEnders any time early in the day!”
Even one Cory fan praised it: “This really changes the game.”
But one person was left confused as they wrote on Twitter: “Sorry but not sure how there can be a link haha isn’t it just the BBC covering the Olympics and nothing is changing on ITV at all?”
