“Restoring Mangroves” is the title of an event along the coast of the Asir region as part of the 2024 World Mangrove Day, which falls on July 26 every year.
The event, initiated by the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification in collaboration with the Asir Development Authority, saw the planting of 500 “mangrove” saplings on the beaches of the Al Barak governorate of Asir, with the participation of the designated governor of the Al Barak governorate, Abdullah bin Ali bin Moya, the mayor Nasser Saeed Al Shahrani and some local community members.
