Some may have been a little disappointed by the grand reception organized by the US Congress for Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a “hero and savior” even though he is nothing more than a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court.
Netanyahu’s approximately 52-minute speech to Congress last Wednesday was marked by “enthusiastic applause and whistles from U.S. delegates, which reached a record 81 times since he entered the hall, meaning that Netanyahu’s applause rate occurred intermittently about once every 40 seconds, according to Sky News Arabia.
This is, of course, an artificial false image, just a cheap and cheap drama whose main purpose is to hide, cover up and conceal the details of the bigger picture in the United States during Netanyahu’s visit, which is too important to ignore or forget to focus on the number of times the Zionist war criminals received loud applause.
In the wider scene, there seemed to be some very important details, including the absence of Kamala Harris, the US Vice President and the most prominent candidate for the Democratic nomination in the US presidential election, from Netanyahu’s speech, which undermined the traditional image. This is what the Zionist Prime Minister wanted, and behind him sat the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the US Vice President, the ex-officio President of the Senate.
Nearly half of the Democratic delegates also missed the session in protest of Netanyahu’s insistence on continuing the brutal war in Gaza, as well as boycotting a swap deal “with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and former House Majority Members Jim Clyburn (D-South Carolina) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York),” according to the Axios website.
As for the only Palestinian American in Congress, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., attended the speech and held up a banner that read “War Criminal” during Netanyahu’s speech.
Thousands of Americans supporting the Palestinian people also demonstrated in front of the Capitol to protest Netanyahu’s speech, with some wearing Palestinian headscarves and demanding that Washington stop arming Israel, while others held banners describing him as a “war criminal” and “genocidal prime minister.” Signs included calls for his arrest and extradition to the International Criminal Court.
Not only that, Netanyahu was also severely criticized by US representatives. Nancy Pelosi said through her account on the “X” platform that “Netanyahu’s speech was the worst speech ever made by a foreign person who has the honor of speaking to Congress.”
As for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, he also posted on the “X” platform that “Netanyahu is not only a war criminal, but also a liar.” He added that “all humanitarian organizations have confirmed that tens of thousands of children are facing hunger because his extremist government is blocking aid.”
This is the “tip of the iceberg” and a small part of the details of a wider American scenario, over which many waters flow and which significantly change the general American sentiment towards Israel as a result of the genocide and hunger war. The number of casualties inflicted by the Zionist occupation forces on the land of Gaza is about 40,000 martyrs, including 16,000 children, about 100,000 injured, and 360,000 homes completely or partially destroyed.
Indeed, this change in the American situation in favor of the Palestinian cause, both in the streets and among some of the ruling elite, is not too influential and decisive in re-making, shaping and changing American policy in the region to be more impartial and neutral, but it is illogical that Arab countries should pay attention to it or not, and it should be established by creating a permanent channel of communication with those who reject the crimes committed by Zionism against the Palestinians in the United States, exposing the false narratives and images that the Zionist occupiers try to create around the world, and conveying to them the real situation of the ethnic and genocidal crimes that are being committed on the Palestinian land, until we reach the most important goal, which is to gradually break the relationship between “American sponsors and Israeli agents” in the region and allow the Palestinian people to get their right to life and freedom from the clutches of the hateful Zionist occupation!
