TREBINJE – In Drazanska Gora near Trebinje, terrain levelling and other infrastructure arrangements for the future Trebinje “Free Zone” have been completed and Trebinje Mayor Mirko Coric and his colleagues visited the project.
10 hectares have been arranged and leveled in the area, for which the Republika Srpska government provided 800,000 km , which, according to Mayor Coric, is a very profitable investment.
“This is the first free zone registered in Republika Srpska and it is a very important project because it is close to the ports of Bar and Ploče, as well as four airports – Tivat, Podgorica, Mostar, Silpi, but an airport is also planned here in Trebinje, which is very important for the project because our goal is to attract domestic and foreign businessmen to build factories here,” Coric noted.
He reminded that the city government has already given great discounts, with rent discounts of more than 50% and renovation fee discounts of more than 25%, and there will be substantial discounts in the future.
He said the land “within the free zone” was not intended to be sold but a more advantageous option would be leasing.
Coric added that the City of Trebinje, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and businessmen, passed a number of favorable bills to facilitate the registration and operation of companies after the free trade zone begins operations.
“The commercial entity ‘Slobodna zona’ itself has been registered and after resolving the land and some additional infrastructure work, we hope to continue the project in the near future to make it fulfill its intended purpose,” said Coric.
The President of the Trebinje Regional Chamber of Commerce, Veselin Savic, also stressed the importance of launching the Trebinje “Free Zone” project.
Fencing and access works in the area will continue soon.
