Defamation trial between St. Louis Mayor Mansour Faye and Aminata Touré to be heard on August 8, 2024

The defamation case between Mansour Faye, the mayor of Saint-Louis, and Aminata Touré, the former prime minister and member of President Diomaye’s coalition, opened this Thursday in a Dakar court. The case has been reserved for hearing until August 8, 2024. The charges concern Mansour Faye’s management of 1 trillion CFA francs of funds intended for the fight against Covid-19. While the defendant was absent from the court, Ms. Aminata Touré reacted to the case, leaving the court accompanied by her activists.
