Praise be to God, He is the Ruler, He grants dominion to whom He wills and takes it away from whom He wills, He exalts whom He wills and humiliates whom He wills. We praise Him exceedingly, we thank Him with gratefulness, and I bear witness that there is no god besides Allah, nor any partner. “Verily, Allah is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.” [الحج: 75]I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger; the best of creation and the wisest of mankind. His Lord gave him the choice between kingship and the message, or slavery and the message, so he chose to be a servant and a messenger, may God’s blessings and peace be upon him and his family, companions and followers until that Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: So fear God Almighty, obey him, observe his religion, keep his commandments, uphold his laws, and hold fast to his cords. [هود: 112].
O people: the struggle between truth and falsehood is ancient and will continue to the end of time, and this is the law of Almighty God in the struggle: “If God had not excluded people, one man from another, the earth would have been corrupted; but God is the owner of favors throughout the world.” [البقرة: 251]This great verse is a summary of the battle that took place between Talut and Goliath, in which the Prophet David (peace be upon him) of Allah narrated this battle to us in the Quran as a warning and consideration.
The first is that the Israelites followed the Messenger after Moses (peace be upon him), then they abandoned their religion, their morals became corrupt, they indulged in forbidden things. Their enemies gained power over them, and they made enemies of them. Then a group of their nobles, nobles, and masters came to one of their prophets and complained to him about their situation and what was happening to them, and asked him to choose a king for them to rule over them. To fight against their enemies and take revenge on them. This is what God Almighty said: “Did you not see that the leaders of the children of Israel after Moses said to one of their prophets, ‘Send us a king so that we can fight according to God’s way?'” [البقرة: 246]. Their Prophet feared that they would give up the fight, just as those before them had given up the fight, when they failed Moses, peace be upon him. [البقرة: 246]. But they gave the reason for Jihad, that their enemies had given them permission to do Jihad. So he killed their people, took some of their land, and took a casket containing relics of the family of Moses and the family of Aaron, including some tablets of the Torah, some of their laws, the rod of Moses, and other things. It was sacred to them, but when it was imposed on them, they did not fight, and only a few supported it. God is all-knowing of the lawless, except for a few of them. [البقرة: 246].
Therefore, their Prophet chose Talot as their king and leader, and they disputed his leadership. Because he was not one of their proud or wealthy men, their Prophet told them that the elements of his leadership were the knowledge that brought wisdom and good politics, as well as the strength and power of the body that enabled him to achieve his goals, and courage. He carried out his decisions and the policies of his country, before and after Allah Almighty chose him, and Allah Almighty would not choose for them unless whoever was worthy to lead them, and their Prophet said to them: “Indeed, Allah has sent them.” They said: “How can he be our king when we are more worthy of the kingship than him, and he has not been given riches?” He said: “Indeed, God has chosen him. God gives his rule to whomever He wills, and God is all-encompassing and all-knowing.” [البقرة: 247]Their prophet gave them a sign to rule over them, that the holy ark was returned to them, “so the angels came with it, as they saw it with their own eyes.” Aaron’s family stayed behind, and the angels took it, and that was a sign for you if you are a believer. [البقرة: 248].
Their king, Tarot, led them to fight the enemy until they left their cities and villages, and then they were put to the test. Through this test, he would know how steadfast they were in holy war, how strong they were in fighting. But most of them did not obey their king, so when Tarot arrived with his soldiers, he said, “Indeed, God will test you with a river, so that whoever drinks from it is not mine, and whoever does not eat from it is mine, except those who have strayed from the right path.” He scooped a spoonful with his hand, and all of them drank from it, except a few. [البقرة: 249]. “This test showed that they had limited water in order to complete the test, so most of them disobeyed the order and drank the forbidden water from the river, then turned away and no longer fought the enemy. Their impatience for an hour on the water was the greatest evidence of their impatience for a battle that was about to escalate and cause great difficulties, while their retreat from the rest of the army increased the trust of the steadfast people in Almighty God, pleading with Him as He and those who believed with Him passed by, saying: “We have no strength today to fight against Goliath and his soldiers.” [البقرة: 249]. Only a few remained with Talut, and their number was as great as that of the people of Badr who were with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. As in the Hadith of Bara, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: “We are talking about: the companions of Badr were three hundred and twelve, as many as the companions of Talut, who went through the battle with him, and there was not a single person with him except one believer.” But the withdrawal of the majority from the army did not weaken the few loyal supporters nor their determination to fight. Because they knew that victory comes from God Almighty, neither through abundance nor through force. [البقرة: 249].
When the time for battle approached, two rows of people faced each other: one row of believers led by Talot, and one row of polytheists led by Goliath. Therefore, the believers asked their Lord for three things: patience, steadfastness, and victory. So He responded to them: “When they came out to attack Goliath and his soldiers, they said: ‘Our Lord, grant us patience and make our steps firm, so that we can win over the unbelieving people.'” God’s permission [البقرة: 250-251].
In the story of the Children of Israel, Goliath was a huge and brave warrior who would not duel with anyone unless he could kill him, so he went out and asked for a duel, peace be upon him, he was a little boy, but. He was brave and good at throwing with a slingshot, and when Goliath asked for a duel as was his custom, David appeared in front of him and shot him in the head with a slingshot, which he then cut off with his sword. In his mind, Talot was also impressed by David’s courage, so he married his daughter to him, so he inherited his kingdom, and the Almighty God combined his prophecy with the kingship. [البقرة: 250]. This great story ends with a beautiful statement in defense of the earth and the things on it: “If God had not repelled people, and one of them repelled another, the earth would have been corrupted.” [البقرة: 251]. “That is: if he had not repelled those who fought for his cause from the plots of the ungodly and the invasions of the pagans; the earth would have been controlled by the pagans, practicing the rites of unbelief, and preventing them from worshipping the Almighty God and demonstrating his religion, “but God is the owner of the grace of the world. ” [البقرة: 251]He has ordained for them Jihad, which brings them happiness, protects them, and gives them power in the land for reasons known and unknown to them. ” “These are the signs of God, and we recite them to you truthfully, and you are indeed Messengers.” [البقرة: 252].
May God bless you and me in the Holy Quran…
Second Sermon
=======
Praise be to Allah, a very good and blessed praise, as beloved and satisfied by our Lord, I bear witness that there is no god besides Allah, no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, may the Messenger of Allah be blessed. Prayers and peace be upon him and his family, companions and all those who are guided by them until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: So fear God and obey Him. [البقرة: 48].
O Muslim: Allah Almighty revealed this story shortly before the Battle of Badr. This is also felt in the Hadith of Al-Baraa bin Azib, may Allah be pleased with both of them, and made the population of Badr equal to the number of believers who remained steadfast in the faith of Talot. It is as if this story was revealed to strengthen the believers and to make them strong in the face of polytheists who were three times their number, as can be seen from the words of Almighty God: “A small group defeated a large group. God willing, God is with those who are patient.” [البقرة: 249].
It teaches the Sahabi and the believers after them to rely on Almighty God. This is because “reliance on oneself is the cause of failure and disappointment”. He also benefits from the words of Almighty Allah: “They say: ‘Why should we not fight for God when we were driven out of our homes and children? But when the battle is prescribed for them, they turn away, except for a few. God is All-Knowing.” [البقرة: 246]Likewise, “seeking help from God, being patient and turning to Him are the means of victory.” The words of Almighty God also benefited him: “When they came out to attack Goliath and his soldiers, they said, ‘Our Lord, pour out your patience on us and make our steps firm and help us against this unbelieving people.’” So they defeated him, God willing, and died. [البقرة: 250-251].
In this story, most of the Israelites were disobedient people. Therefore, they were not a warring people, but a warring people. This is because the motivation for Jihad for the sake of Allah Almighty is strengthened in the hearts of those whose faith is strong, and lacks motivation in the hearts of those whose faith is weak or disappeared. Those who call for Jihad for the sake of Almighty God seek His pleasure and Paradise, while the people of Israel relied on the world for most of their history, abandoned their religion, changed their laws, distorted their books, disagreed with their prophets, and then denied our Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace when he is sent. Therefore, they were humiliated at all times except when they made a covenant with them or when powerful people helped them. , They incurred the wrath of God, which was unfortunate for them, because they did not believe in the scriptures of God in the past, killed the prophets unjustly, because they were disobedient and committed aggression. [آل عمران: 112].
Pray and greet your Prophet…
