As a reminder, next Monday, the Gozo Youth Wind Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra within the Orchestra will present the 16th edition of Opera and Popular Music Under the Stars in the beautiful setting of the Ggantija Temple in Xaghra.
Guest singer Pamela Cibrano (New York), an original soprano who has participated in the previous 12 editions of this annual concert, will perform alongside current resident soprano Nicola Said – Soprano (Malta/UK) and guest soprano Francesca Power – Soprano (UK).
Resident singers bass Noel Galea (Gozo, Malta), pop tenor Ludwig Galea (Malta) and pop singer Sarah Bonnici (Gozo, Malta) and emerging musical theatre singer Tara Azar (UK) will join forces to present a spectacular evening in the unique setting of Ggantija.
The first part of the concert consisted of arias, duets and orchestral excerpts from the opera world, while the second part turned to a more relaxed style of repertoire, covering musicals, soundtracks and popular music.
The Gozo Youth Orchestra will be led by its founder and music director, Dr Joseph Grech.
The musical event will take place at the Ggantija Archaeological Park on Monday, July 29, at 8:30 pm.
As in previous years, this event is held in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy in Malta and sponsored by the U.S. Ambassador to Malta, Ms. Constance Milstein. Space is limited (first come, first served) and special logistical arrangements are in place to preserve this location.
