Two and a half months after the start of the riots, his team continues to patrol, well-equipped: smoke, tear gas or anti-siege grenades, grenade launchers, defensive ball launchers, shields, helmets and shin guards.

The police are well aware of this, having been in the local police station near the media library for six years before it burned down. The same is true for Magenta and Tuband. The Pierre-Roncette police station is no longer operational.
Precisely, the patrol went to Montraville, where they found masked men. At first glance, some activists were demonstrating on a roundabout, but there was no violence. But patrolling the streets, the police spotted young men carrying stones. They immediately armed themselves and tried to arrest the perpetrators. Projectiles flew. The police and emergency reinforcements took measures to disperse.
140 police officers have been injured since the riots began. Three of them were shot and their injuries are very serious. Another reality is that the national police of New Caledonia usually numbers around 700 people. At the moment, there are 350 additional personnel. Police officers from France, but also gendarmes who work in Nouméa (and therefore in the urban area) (with the exception of the police).
