New developments in the internal workers’ crisis

Mahmoud Akl, an activist on workers’ issues, said the plight of Palestinian workers has not changed and has been worsening for ten months, noting that a new element of the workers’ issue is the “issuance of special permits” for internal work.

Aql explained in the Sunnah Raya Media NetworkSuddenly, all permits that were still valid were suspended and disappeared from the Israeli police and the coordinator program, an unprecedented and dangerous step.

He stressed that the situation today is more dangerous and more difficult for workers than before, with about 100 to 150,000 workers affected by this step, noting that the number of workers who returned to work before the suspension of licenses yesterday totaled about 45,000 workers.
