Donald Trump accused US Vice President Kamala Harris of being a “radical left wing craziness” on Wednesday during his first rally since the Democratic Party launched its campaign following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the White House.
“She is a radical left-wing lunatic who is going to destroy our country,” the former North Carolina Republican nominee said. “We will not let that happen,” he added.
Harris, a 59-year-old Democrat, has thrown herself into the White House race with Biden’s endorsement after making the historic decision over the weekend to drop her reelection bid.
Trump, wearing his traditional red tie, called Harris “the ultra-liberal driving force behind every Biden disaster.”
He also claimed that Democratic bosses were behind Biden’s decision to quit his candidacy and accused Harris, whom he called a “fraud,” of covering up the president’s “mental incapacity.”
“Now we have a new victim to defeat,” he said before criticizing the vice president’s career, particularly on foreign policy and immigration.
“If we start beating him by 10 or 15 points in the polls, do you think they’re going to send us a third candidate?”
He also accused Harris of supporting the “execution of babies” through abortion programs.
“She wants to execute babies by performing abortions in the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy, until birth, or even after birth,” the tycoon claimed.
Some supporters in the crowd wore T-shirts commemorating the moment of defiance when Trump raised his fist and bled from his ear after being wounded in the July 13 assassination attempt.
