Libreville, Wednesday, July 24, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and the Arts, Dr. André-Jacques Ogande, attended the Ministerial Forum of the United Nations Education Organization, Science and Culture (UNESCO), held on July 24, 2024 in Paris.
The ‘Sport Changemakers’ conference brought together ministers, sports organisations, elite athletes, private sector players, investors, social entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to discuss the power of sport as a vehicle for sustainable development.
UNESCO seeks to use the 2024 Paris Olympic Games as a springboard to create a lasting sporting legacy. Sport has the power to transform societies, drive social and environmental progress, encourage inclusion and promote gender equality. The aim of this event is to identify commitments from Member States.
The theme of the Forum is “Building a sustainable and equitable sporting legacy”. Its conclusions will be presented at a summit of Heads of State tomorrow, July 25, 2024 in France.
