A severe thunderstorm is expected to hit Ontario and Quebec in the coming hours, prompting Environment Canada to issue an alert for most provinces.
The agency said its meteorologists are tracking a system that could cause thunderstorms in affected areas Wednesday morning into evening.
A warning has been issued for the city of Hamilton, while alerts have been issued for areas from Norfolk County to Montreal, including Peterborough, Ottawa, Kingston and much of the Greater Toronto Area.

It also extends northward to rural cottage areas such as Muskoka and Kawartha Lakes, as well as communities around Deep River, Ontario, and Mount Laurier, Quebec.
Environment Canada said the affected areas could see heavy rain, with up to 50 millimetres of rainfall in an hour.
Additionally, wind gusts could reach as high as 90 kilometres per hour, and the storm could bring nickel-sized hail to the area.
The agency warned residents to remain vigilant as heavy rains could cause flash flooding and waterlogging on roads.
Hail could also cause property damage and/or injuries, while winds could also cause problems by blowing loose objects or causing other damage to structures, the report said.
“Lightning strikes kill or injure Canadians every year,” the warning states.
“Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!”
