He kept the jar in the dark for nine years
The 53-year-old man told doctors at the Kirov Regional Clinical Hospital in Russia that he had always felt pain on one side of his body, below his ribs, and he had not checked out what was causing it.
After deciding to go to a doctor for help with his problem, they gave him a doctor’s knife which revealed a sharp object in this area of his brain.
The doctor asked him when he suspected that the glass had hit his brain, and the patient said he knew nothing because he could not remember when something had gone wrong with him that caused the sharp object to enter his body. After surgery, a nine centimeter (9) piece of glass was found to be lodged in his brain.
He always felt pain without knowing the cause until he found out it was a piece of broken glass that disappeared into the darkness without him noticing.
A doctor who interviewed him said: “We were delighted to see the piece of glass measuring 88x15x7 mm with sharp teeth when we did the ‘endoscopic’ test. When we operated on it, it was obvious that there was something unusual. It had been covered by tissue in the womb. This is how the body protects itself. When something bad enters the body that shouldn’t be there, a part of the flesh comes to cover it, separates it from the rest of the body, and allows it to continue to live.
OddityCentral reports that the man is very lucky to have slept with the glass in his body for nine years, as it could have injured him or even killed him, and the surgery would have been very difficult as it is in a difficult part of the body with a lot of blood flow, so it could have caused all sorts of problems.
