Utopia of the Seas welcomes new ship on maiden voyage

Acting Prime Minister Cooper delivered a speech as the new cruise ship arrived at the port.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Royal Caribbean International’s Utopia of the Seas will dock at Nassau Cruise Port when it makes its maiden voyage to Nassau on July 21, 2024. A commemorative plaque and key exchange ceremony officially welcomed the world’s second-largest cruise ship, which sails between Port Canaveral in Orlando, Florida, and the Bahamas, with a special promotion for its “Perfect Day at CocoCay.”

Officials attending the inaugural voyage included: Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment and Aviation, the Honourable Chester, who delivered a welcome speech. Captain Gus Anderson of the Ocean Utopia attended the presentation of a commemorative plaque and exchanged keys with Nassau Cruise Port CEO Mike Mora, Tourism Director Latia Duncombe, Port Director Bernie Wright and United Shipping President Andrew Malone.
