The renowned chef Zdravko Tomšić, who holds a special place in Croatian gastronomy, will be the guest of honor at the Spinnaker Food Stage edition, especially since he was one of the first founders of the fine dining scene and the Slow Food movement in this region. Tomšić’s simple philosophy of traditional cuisine based on local ingredients fits perfectly into the story of the Spinnaker Food Stage. On his resume he has worked as kitchen manager at the restaurant Kukuriku from 1998 to 2005 and as head chef at the restaurant Draga di Lovran from 2005 to 2015, during which time his work was recognized by Gault Millau Austria, Gambero Rosso and Gault Millau among others. Today, the chef plays the role of an educator, so his guidance has helped to develop a group of top young chefs. As a consultant and educator, he focuses on Croatian national and traditional cuisine and shares his knowledge with restaurants, event agencies, educational institutions and wineries from Istria to Dubrovnik.
