Addis Ababa, July 23, 2024 (Address) UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed said the UN is committed to supporting all efforts to increase equal beneficiaries and participation of women in Ethiopia.
She noted that efforts to increase the participation of women in all fields and at all levels of responsibility were encouraging.
A discussion is taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on increasing gender equality in all areas.
Speaking at the event, the Under-Secretary-General commended Ethiopia’s efforts to ensure gender equality and fair benefits for women in the country.
Amina Mohammed also expressed promising starts in areas such as education coverage and access to education, health services, and job creation.
The Under-Secretary-General pledged that the United Nations will continue to support women’s participation and equal benefits.
Ethiopia’s Minister of Social and Women’s Affairs, Ergoge Tesfaye (PhD), stressed that the government is committed to strengthening women’s equal participation and beneficiaries at all levels of leadership, ENA reported.
