Legend Tyson’s return postponed to July without Paul

Legendary American boxer Mike Tyson’s return to boxing has been delayed as the former heavyweight champion’s health deteriorates and he will not be fully ready in the coming weeks.

Tyson’s fight with internet star Jake Paul was originally scheduled for July 20 in Texas, but organizers had to postpone it. The 57-year-old American suddenly felt sick on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. He needed treatment on the plane. According to the Associated Press, Tyson complained of nausea and dizziness.

Initial examinations came back positive, but Tyson was unable to train in the near future. Gastroenterologist Lawrence Kosinski later revealed that a stomach ulcer could be the cause of the nausea and dizziness. “If it’s an ulcer, you have to respect it. You can’t train intensively with it,” Kosinski revealed in an interview with USA Today. If Tyson continued to train, the consequences of an unhealed ulcer could have required acute surgery. Therefore, they recommended a medical break of four to six weeks.

“He has been advised to train lightly over the next few weeks. Both Mike and Jack agree that this is the only fair way to allow both athletes equal time to prepare for important competitions and be able to compete at the highest level,” organizers said in a statement.

One of the best boxers in history believes in returning to full training sooner rather than later.

Tyson said: “Unfortunately, my doctor recommended that I take some time off and recover. My overall physical condition is better than it was in the 90s. I will be back to my training plan soon.” He believes that there will be an intergenerational battle in the boxing world in the near future. He sent a clear message to the YouTuber: “Jack, it may have taken you a while to get better, but I will beat you in the end.”
