Mexico City (apro) – To boost productive activities in the country, the bankers who met with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador expressed their willingness to grant loans of up to 500 billion pesos. “Mexico has trust,” the president wrote on social networks, attaching two images in which representatives of the Mexican Banking Association (ABM) can be seen at the National Palace. “We met with the Mexican Banking Association. We exchanged views and, among other things, they told me that they are willing to grant credits of up to 500 billion pesos for productive activities,” said the federal executive. Accompanying the president at the meeting were the new Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Arturo Herrera, and the head of the presidential office, Alfonso Romo. Also present were Luis Niño de Rivera, president of the Mexican Banking Association’s board of directors; Carlos Rojo Macedo, Banorte executive president; Ernesto Torres Cantú, Citibanamex vice president, and 45 other banking institution executives.
