Tegucigalpa – After Joe Biden resigned to seek reelection as president, everything seemed to indicate that the current Republican candidate, Donald Trump, had an easy path to the White House again.
Yet Marvin Ponce, a former presidential adviser in the Juan Orlando Hernández administration, recalled that Trump was also an elderly candidate.
One of the reasons Joe Biden, 81, stepped down is believed to be his advanced age, which is why he chose to push for generational change.
However, the former presidential adviser said at the morning forum that Trump, 78, is also old.
In response, he criticized the lack of younger candidates in the so-called two-party system in the United States.
Now Democrats must choose among five or six candidates, but it’s a difficult situation because of divisions on the issue.
He concluded by saying that we should also wait for the opinions of the de facto powers that also determine the political course of the country. (RO)
